Do you have empathy? Can you step into somebody else’s shoes or, perhaps, try on their suit? That’s the idea behind the “empathy suit” designed by the Ford Motor Company in partnership with the University of Loughborough,UK. The suit simulates aging by reducing mobility, hearing and vision. It allows the developers of products for aging baby boomers to test the usability of their creations.
Empathy is crucial not only for good design, but for good lawyering as well. Now, what would be the equivalent of the “empathy suit” to impart empathy to lawyers?
